The Fifth-term Macao Chief Executive Candidate Ho Iat-seng Holds A Symposium with Macao Chamber of Commerce

On the afternoon of August 10th, Ho Iat-seng, the fifth-term Chief Executive candidate for the Macao Special Administrative Region, held a symposium with the Macao Chamber of Commerce on the fourth floor, Ho Yin Memorial Hall of ACM Building. Mr. Fu Jianguo, Vice Chairman of Macao Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Nam Kwong Group attended the meeting. The symposium was hosted by Ma Lao Lai, President of Macao Chamber of Commerce. Ho Iat-seng introduced his election guidelines and answered questions from participants. Li Zhizhong, Deputy Chairman of the Macao Chamber of Commerce and Vice-President of Name Kwong Group, attended the meeting together with the representatives from the boards of directors and supervisors, election agents and the head of the campaign office for Ho Iat-seng.

Ho Iat-seng introduced his political guidelines for the election. With collaborative progress, reform and innovation as his core concept, he advocated to comprehensively and accurately implement the "one country, two systems" policy, take the initiative to grasp new opportunities in the new era, actively respond to the demands about the people's livelihood, vigorously promote the mainstream values of patriotism and love for Macao, and maintain the social stability and harmony. The political guidelines elaborated on the concept of governance from five aspects: improving public governance, promoting economic diversification, optimizing the effectiveness of people's livelihood projects, intensifying personnel training, and building a cultural cooperation base, which aimed to develop Macao into a better place with efficient and clean government, prosperous and diversified economy, and civilized society and created a new situation for Macao's development.

Participants mainly focused on issues such as public administration reform, economic diversification and industrial development, youth entrepreneurship and integration into the Greater Bay Area, foreign labour policies and SME development, old district rehabilitation and flood management, land use and housing policies, and housing for the youth. Ho Iat-seng answered their questions one by one based on his political guidelines.
