Nam Kwong holds 5th symposium on legal work of centrally-administrated SOEs in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

The fifth symposium on legal work of centrally-administrated state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area sponsored by Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited and co-sponsored by the Secretariat for Administration and Justice (SAJ) of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) was held in Macao on July 19. About 30 people including Wang Heng, deputy director of the legal affairs department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the MSAR, Liu Dexue, director of the SAJ, and chief legal counsel or legal affair directors of the China Southern Power Grid Company Limited, China Southern Airlines, China Merchants Group, China Resources Group, China National Travel Service Group Corporation Limited, China General Nuclear Power Corporation, Overseas Chinese Town Holdings Company, and Nam Kwong attended the symposium. Zhao Yufu, secretary of the board of directors and chief legal counsel of the Nam Kwong, presided over the meeting. Peng Jinhong, executive director and general accountant of the Nam Kwong, delivered a welcoming speech.

The Bureau of Policies, Laws and Regulations of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council, sent a congratulatory letter, in which it extended appreciation to the Liaison Office in the MSAR and the SAJ for their attendance. The bureau also asked the eight centrally-administrated SOEs in the Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to enhance law-based business operation in accordance with the requirements and suggestions of the legal affairs department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the MSAR and the SAJ. The bureau was committed to supporting centrally-administrated SOEs in implementing the development plan for the Greater Bay Area and promoting the “One China, Two Systems” policy, the letter said. 

Wang Heng, deputy director of the legal affairs department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the MSAR, and Liu Dexue, director of the SAJ addressed the meeting. The participating eight centrally-administrated SOEs unfolded discussion and shared their respective experience and practice revolving around the theme of the building of a law-based business and practice in developing the Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by centrally-administrated SOES. They also made in-depth exchanges on how to give full play to the geographical edges of the Greater Bay Area in cross-border business and promote legal cooperation among centrally-administrated SOEs in the area.

An innovative approach to enhancing law-based business to a higher level, the meeting carried out the SASAC’s arrangement on exchanges of legal building among centrally-administrated SOEs and achieved satisfactory results.
