2019 Summit on Chinese Central SOEs Supporting Macao as a Cooperation Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Is Held in Macao

On October 16, "2019 Summit on Chinese Central SOEs Supporting Macao as a Cooperation Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries" was held at the Venetian Macao. This event was organized by the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. The Summit's coordinating entity is the Secretariat for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Government. The event is supported by the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao S.A.R. (LOCPG). Fernando Chui Sai On, the Chief Executive of Macau, Vice Chairman Ho Hau Wah of the CPPCC National Committee, Hao Peng, the Secretary of CPC Committee and Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Director Fu Ziying of the LOCPG, Commissioner Shen Beili of the Commissioner's Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Macao Special Administrative Region, Alexandre Monteiro, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Energy, Cape Verde, and President Kou Hoi In of Legislative Assembly of Macau Special Administration Region attended and presided over the event. Fernando Chui Sai On, Hao Peng, and Fu Ziying delivered speeches. Alexandre Monteiro and Executive Vice President Liu Jin of China Development Bank made keynote speeches. Chairman Fu Jianguo, President Duan Hongyi, Vice President Luo Qun, and Chief Accountant Peng Jinhong of the Group attended the event. Fu Jianguo, on behalf of the Group, and Chairman Zhou Yubo of CNIC Corporation Limited signed an overseas investment cooperation framework agreement. Relevant leaders of the Group participated in the general discussion and the matchmaking meeting for central enterprises and Macao's financial circle.

The theme of this Summit was "Explore New Opportunities in the New Era of Cooperation". Enterprises and institutions from Mainland China, Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSCs), and Macao signed 11 cooperation projects in the fields of infrastructure, scientific research, and talent cultivation. The general discussion contained three topics, that is, "Central Enterprises '+Macao' Collaboration for Highly Effective Participation in the Infrastructure Development in PSCs and 'Belt and Road' Countries", "Harness Macao's Featured Finance to Support Central Enterprises' Growth in PSCs", and "Craft the GBA Innovation Engine with Organic Combination of Macao's and Central Enterprises' Competitive Edges". Participants actively share their insights into the topics. Over 400 representatives from central ministries and commissions, central enterprises, enterprises of PSCs, and local enterprises and business associations attended this Summit.
