It hopes the press would work with new media to contribute to social harmony
(From our own correspondent) Nam Kwong invited several media representatives and journalists to a meeting yesterday. Board Chairman Fu Jianguo said the company would continue to play to its strengths as a resident central enterprise in Macao, deepen reform, and accelerate transformation and upgrade. He hoped that the press industry would seek integrated development with new media and create a favorable atmosphere for Macao's social harmony and stability.
The meeting started at 18:30 at the Plaza Restaurant. Attendees included Wan Sucheng, head of communications and culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao, Director-General Chan Chi Ping of Macao Government Information Bureau, vice head of communications and culture Liu Wei of the Liaison Office, as well as heads of media outlets from Macao, Hong Kong and the mainland.
At the following dinner party, Fu Jianguo praised the press for their good job in covering major events such as the civil-military cooperation in disaster relief and reconstruction after the Typhoon Hato, the election of Macao's delegates to the 13th National People's Congress, and the opening to traffic of the Macao port administrative zone of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, in properly shaping the opinion climate, in focusing on social development and people's livelihood, in showcasing the achievements of the "One Country, Two Systems" practice, in advocating patriotism, and in building up Macao's positive image, delivering its voice, and stimulating positive energy and national pride.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the introduction of the reform and opening up policy. In the new era, we should value peace, cooperation, openness, integration, reform and innovation more than ever, vigorously push forward the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development, deepen reform, open wider, align more closely with national development strategies, and deepen exchanges and cooperation with the mainland. Nam Kwong will continue to play to its strengths as a resident central enterprise in Macao and contribute to Macao's prosperity and stability. Fu also expressed the hope that the press would seek integrated development with new media, continue to showcase the latest achievements and developments of the country and the company, help build up the image of Macao, Macao businesses and Nam Kwong, and create a favorable atmosphere for Macao's social harmony and stability.
