On February 10, the opening ceremony of the “2018 Winter Warming” event sponsored by the United General Association of Macao Community Volunteers was held at the sixth floor of the Jiezong Building. Deputy General Manager Wang Xinghua attended the opening ceremony on behalf of Nam Kwong Group Office.
Since its initiation, the “2018 Winter Warming” has received vigorous support from the society. This year, about 450 volunteers joined, hitting a record high of participants. As a central enterprise based in Macau and serving Macau, Nam Kwong Group is always concerned with people’s livelihood in Macau, actively fulfills its social responsibility, and fully leverages its advantages to give support in terms of human resources and materials, sending festive wishes and greetings to elderly people living alone in Macau.
This event, the first of its kind organized by the Nam Kwong Group volunteer team in 2018, was actively answered by volunteers in the group. On the day of the event, volunteers of the group as well as their family members, together with volunteers from all walks of life, packed the materials for the elderly into 211 gift bags and delivered them to elderly people separately, together with the kindness and good wishes from the group and all walks of life. The event was unanimously praised.
Volunteers participating in the event noted that it was very significant for the group to organize such an event before the Spring Festival so that they had the chance to join the Macau community and make contributions to helping the disadvantaged. Some volunteers participated with their children, and some returned from Zhuhai especially for this event. The whole event was warm and compassionate.
