The “18th Macau Food Festival”, which lasted 17 days, was held in West Bay Lake Square on November 9. The theme of this food festival was "good cooking with a changeable mood and the city of gastronomy with a worldwide reputation”, with more than 150 food shops participating the festival.
The opening ceremony was held at West Bay Lake Square at 18:00 pm on November 9. Cui Shi-an, Chief Executive of Macao SAR, Zhang Rongshun, Deputy Director of Central Liaison Office in Macao, Tan Junrong, Director of Social and Cultural Department, Chen Zewu, Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the 18th Macao Food Festival, Gao Kaixian, Chairman of China General Chamber of Commerce, Wu Zhiliang, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Macao Foundation, Wen Qihua, Director of Tourism Bureau, Dai Zuyi, Chairman of the Management Committee of the General Administration of Civil Affairs, Zheng Xiuming, Director of the Association of Journalists, Su Weiliang, Director of Catering Trade Union, and Li Rongru, Chairman of the Macau Food and Beverage Industry Joint Chamber of Commerce, etc. hosted the ceremony. Peng Hua, Vice General Manager of Macau CTS Hotel Management (International) Limited and relevant leaders and heads of departments were invited to attend the opening ceremony.
The annual Macao Food Festival has always been one of the annual events in Macao.
