Nam Kwong Group Organizes Employees to Watch the Documentary Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge

To let the employees know more about the construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Nam Kwong Group organized about 200 employees to watch the documentary Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge at Cinema Alegria in Macao on the evening of November 23. The documentary, aiming to celebrate the official opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, jointly produced by China Media Group, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Authority, Guangdong Radio & Television and Zhuhai Television, was released in Macao on November 13.

We are able to witness the charm of the bridge from the beautiful pictures and abundant expressiveness in the documentary. The bridge was fully and officially opened on October 23. It is the world's longest sea-spanning bridge, a Chinese business card that "connects the world", and a flying bridge that connects the most vigorous regions in the world. Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, based on the placing and installation process of No. E30 immersed tube, retrospected the creative spirit and the striving process of Chinese bridge builders who have been self-reliant and “dared to be the forerunner in the world” since the groundbreaking in 2009, and showed the fruitful achievements of “One Country, Two Systems” under the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. The documentary not only displayed the magnificence of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge with a number of scenes but also introduced precious historical materials of China’s bridges that have not been showed in many TV documentaries such as the Qiantang River Bridge and the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge. The documentary focused on the first-line builders of the bridge, from Lin Ming, chief engineer of the island tunnel project, to ordinary welders, all of whom are the souls representing the wisdom and courage of the Chinese nation. It explored the reason why the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has become a great project in the 21st century and illustrated the significance. It revealed that the Chinese bridge builders of this “mega project” have the courage to overcome difficulties and constantly challenge the extremities, establish “Chinese standards” in the history of world bridge construction and create Chinese miracle through their wisdom and sweat. The bridge is not only a project but a reflection of the innovation ability of the whole nation and the comprehensive national strength.

The employees on the scene responded enthusiastically with great upsurge of emotion. They thought that the documentary not only displayed grand scenes, but also told true and heart-touching stories. For them, it was a comprehensive, warm and influential work that inspired their patriotism and made them proud of the powerful ability of the country to complete this great project independently. The documentary also created a good atmosphere for Macao to actively integrate into the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
